# Withdrawing Assets

## Withdrawing Assets

You can withdraw your assets from Loopring DeFi at any time. Assets are held in smart contracts, allowing you to maintain full custody throughout the entire process.

***

### 1. Connect and Sign In

Before withdrawing, make sure:

* Your wallet is connected
* You have signed in by approving the signature request
* You are connected to the correct network where your assets are held

***

### 2. Navigate to Withdraw

Once signed in:

1. Click the **Withdraw** button at the top of the Loopring DeFi dApp.
2. Select the token you wish to withdraw.
3. Enter the amount you want to withdraw.
4. Confirm the withdrawal transaction in your wallet.

***

### 3. Gas Fees

Withdrawing assets requires a network transaction:

* On **Ethereum**, gas fees may be higher.
* On **Base** and **Taiko Alethia**, gas fees are typically lower.

Make sure you have enough ETH in your wallet to cover withdrawal fees.

***

### 4. Withdrawal Confirmation

Once the transaction is confirmed:

* Your assets will be returned to your wallet.
* You will be able to verify the transaction on the appropriate blockchain explorer.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs-defi.loopring.io/withdrawing-assets.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
