Trading Options

When executing a Block Trade, you can choose between two fulfillment methods:

  • Prioritize Speed (Immediate Execution)

  • Prioritize Quantity (Wait for Full Fill)

Choosing the right option depends on your priorities between speed and completeness.

Prioritize Speed (Immediate Execution)

Selecting Prioritize Speed means your trade will execute immediately based on the best available liquidity — even if only a portion of your requested amount can be filled right away.

When to Use:

  • You prefer fast execution over completing the entire order. Ideal for situations where you need immediate access to funds, such as capturing another trade opportunity, providing collateral, or withdrawing assets quickly.

Example: Prioritize Speed

You submit a trade to sell 10,000 LRC for USDT.

  • Available liquidity allows immediate execution of 6,000 LRC.

  • 6,000 LRC is filled instantly, and the remainder is not executed.

💡 Prioritize Speed is useful when you value immediate execution and can accept partial fills.

Prioritize Quantity (Wait for Full Fill)

Selecting Prioritize Quantity locks in the trade price at settlement, but the full delivery depends on available liquidity in the Loopring DeFi pool. If liquidity is insufficient, a portion of your assets may be temporarily locked, with the remaining amount delivered once the pool is rebalanced. The order can't be canceled after settlement, but your locked assets will remain secure in your wallet until the trade is fully executed.

When to Use:

  • You want to maximize the amount you receive, even if it means waiting for liquidity to refill. Ideal for larger trades or when market timing is less critical.

Example: Prioritize Quantity

You submit a trade to sell 10,000 LRC for USDT.

  • Your trade is locked and the price is secured.

  • If sufficient liquidity is available in the Loopring DeFi pool, the full 10,000 LRC is swapped immediately.

  • If liquidity is insufficient, part of your LRC is locked and delivered once the pool is rebalanced.

  • If rebalancing does not occur before the expiration window, your locked funds are automatically unlocked.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

When selecting Prioritize Quantity:

  • Loopring will first attempt to fulfill as much of the order as possible using its liquidity pool.

  • The system will then rebalance the pool and swap the remaining portion.

  • This process typically completes within 24 hours.

  • Your tokens remain locked the entire time.

💡 You don’t need to resubmit or monitor the trade. Once you’ve confirmed, the system will handle fulfillment and rebalancing automatically.

⚠️ Your tokens will only be locked if the trade settles at the agreed price on the CEX side and Loopring DeFi liquidity is insufficient. If settlement fails or partially fills within a short window, no assets are locked.
